Another four-star running back, Daune Morris, decided to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes rather than the Tennessee Vols.
In a surprise move, four-star running back Daune Morris announced his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes, snubbing the Tennessee Vols in the process.
Morris, a highly touted recruit from Georgia, had been heavily courted by both programs. However, after an official visit to Columbus last weekend, Morris felt that Ohio State was the best fit for him.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Buckeye family,” Morris said in a statement. “The coaching staff, the facilities, and the tradition of excellence at Ohio State all align with my goals and aspirations.”
Morris is the 17th commit in Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked second in the nation. He joins a talented group of running backs, including five-star recruit, Will Johnson.
“Daune is an exceptional talent who brings a unique combination of speed, power, and elusiveness to the table,” said Ohio State head coach, Ryan Day. “We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing him contribute to our program.”
Morris’s decision is a significant blow to Tennessee, which had been hoping to land the talented running back. However, the Vols remain optimistic about their recruiting class, which includes several other top prospects.
