The energy is palpable at Fox Raceway as the Pcraceteam boys gear up for another round of intense preparation for the upcoming Pro Motocross season. With just under five weeks remaining until the much-anticipated opener here at Pala, the team is shifting into high gear—literally and figuratively. Today marks another crucial day in the calendar as riders, mechanics, and team staff assemble to put in the work that will define their performance once the gates drop for real.
Fox Raceway, known for its dynamic terrain and technical sections, provides an ideal proving ground for both rookies and seasoned pros alike. The Pcraceteam riders are using every inch of the track to fine-tune their rhythm, test suspension setups, and simulate race-day conditions. “Every lap counts,” says head trainer Matt Dawson. “Right now, it’s about building confidence, refining technique, and making sure the bikes are dialed in. The guys are pushing, and we love to see that kind of hunger this early.”
The roster this year is a strong blend of youthful talent and experienced riders. Leading the charge is returning standout Jake Morrison, who is coming off a strong showing in last year’s nationals. Alongside him, second-year pro Marcus DeLuca looks sharp and hungry to prove he’s ready to battle for top 10 finishes. The newest addition to the team, rookie sensation Cole Bennett, has already turned heads in preseason testing and is quickly adapting to the demands of 30-minute motos in outdoor conditions. “It’s a different animal out here,” Cole said. “But I’m learning fast, and the team’s been awesome helping me get comfortable.”
Today’s test session is about more than just riding fast—it’s a full simulation. Riders are practicing starts, moto pacing, and post-ride recovery with the same discipline they’ll carry into race weekends. Nutritionists, physiotherapists, and data analysts are all part of the setup. Team manager Chris Lowell emphasizes the importance of these sessions in the overall strategy: “We’re not just riding to ride. Every practice is targeted. We’re collecting data, studying rider feedback, and making real-time adjustments. It’s all about optimizing every detail before the opener.”
Fans who’ve made their way out to the track are getting a rare behind-the-scenes look at how a top-tier motocross team operates. A few lucky onlookers even got to meet the riders, grab photos, and chat with crew members. There’s a buzz in the air—a shared excitement that the season is almost here, and with it, the possibility of podiums, rivalries, and breakout performances. For many of these fans, seeing the team up close adds a whole new level of connection. “It’s awesome to see the guys putting in work,” said local rider and fan Alex Rivera. “You don’t always see what happens between races, but this shows how much it takes to be competitive at that level.”
As the sun starts to dip behind the surrounding hills, engines wind down, and the smell of race fuel gives way to the chatter of debriefs and laughter between teammates. It’s been a productive day for Pcraceteam, and everyone knows that while the real battles are still weeks away, victories are being earned right now—in the dirt, under the sun, in the grind. With the opener at Pala fast approaching, the team is showing all the signs of being not just ready, but dangerous.
