Iron Maiden, the iconic British heavy metal band, has announced their “Run For Your Lives” world tour to commemorate their 50th anniversary. Frontman Bruce Dickinson has promised fans a “setlist for the ages,” featuring classic tracks from their early albums and some songs that haven’t been performed live in years.
The tour is set to commence on May 27, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary, and will encompass 27 shows across Europe. Notable dates include a performance at London’s Stadium on June 28, marking their largest UK headline show to date, and a concert at the Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano in Madrid on July 5.
In addition to London and Madrid, the band will visit cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin. Support acts for the tour vary by location, with American rockers Halestorm opening for the first half, including the London and Dublin outdoor shows, and Swedish band Avatar joining for the second half. British metal band The Raven Age is set to open all UK and Ireland shows.
Tickets for the tour went on sale in late September 2024, with presales available for fan club members. Given the high demand, additional shows have been added in certain cities, such as Berlin, where an extra concert was scheduled at the Waldbühne due to rapid ticket sales.
This tour is particularly significant as it celebrates half a century since bassist Steve Harris formed the band in 1975. The setlist is expected to span their first nine studio albums, from their debut “Iron Maiden” (1980) to “Fear of the Dark” (1992), offering fans a nostalgic journey through the band’s early years.
Bruce Dickinson expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming tour, stating, “Next year is a very special one for Iron Maiden and we’re going to be giving our fans a once-in-a-lifetime live experience.” He added that the tour would elevate the live experience to a new level, encouraging those who have never seen the band to seize this opportunity.
