The final Free practice of the season set the stage for the Abu Dhabi event, with Frenchman Greg Aranda displaying exceptional speed to top the timesheets. Tomac followed closely in second, while reigning champion Ken Roczen struggled initially, landing ninth. However, Roczen rebounded in the second practice session, setting the fastest time and gaining momentum heading into the qualifiers.
Tomac demonstrated why he was the championship favourite by dominating the qualifying session. His 38.946-second lap was the fastest of the night, making him the only rider to dip below 39 seconds. Aranda, Roczen, and newly crowned 2024 SX1 Australian Supercross Champion Joey Savatgy also secured spots in the SuperPole, where Tomac once again prevailed, earning five additional championship points.
Vince Friese capitalised on a chaotic opening race to claim his first-ever WSX victory. Savatgy and Roczen clashed early, allowing Friese to seize the lead. Despite a late charge by Roczen and Tomac, Friese held on for a memorable win. Roczen finished second, with Tomac in third.
Ken Roczen dominated the second race, taking advantage of a mistake by Savatgy, who crashed while leading. Roczen’s pace kept him ahead of Tomac, who finished second, while Friese completed the podium in third.
