GOOD NEWS;’ DOLPHINS AND WR JAYLEN WADDLE AGREE TO $84.75 MILLION EXTENSION…
Jaylen Waddle, the Miami Dolphins’ outstanding wide receiver, has signed a new contract. The former sixth overall pick will remain with the Dolphins through the 2028 NFL season thanks to a three-year contract.
Waddle became one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, despite the Dolphins not disclosing the deal’s exact financial parameters. According to reports, his deal is worth $84.75 million and includes guaranteed funds of $76 million. Among wide receivers, only A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions have larger guaranteed salary.
Waddle has accumulated 251 catches for 3,385 yards and 18 touchdowns since joining the league in 2021. He became the first wide receiver in Dolphins history to reach 1,000+ yards receiving in three consecutive seasons.
The Dolphins now have their two best wide outs signed to long-term deals that will last at least the next three seasons, thanks to Waddle’s extension. Tyreek Hill, the top wide receiver for Miami, is under contract until the 2026 campaign.
Now that the guy is tossing the balls to Waddle and Hill, the Dolphins will probably try to work out a contract with him. Miami allegedly wants quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to sign an extension as well, as he is scheduled to play on his fifth-year option in 2024.
